I'm working on a project and I need assistance. Can you help me?
Yes. For a Business or Property, you can start by emailing us with a brief description of your project, an overall "Vision Statement", and for what issues you need answers or solutions.
What do you mean by a Vision Statement?
A vision statement is a short written description of your project and goals. Writing a vision statement is a great exercise that not only helps others to understand the intention, direction and purpose of the project -but also helps you to better articulate your goals and understand what issues need to be resolved. The statement can further define what assistance you may need.
How will I most benefit?
In the long and short term, we can guarantee to save you money, time -and headaches! Designing the perfect match of your project or practice to a site, or, your site to the best practice or project, will save money and resources.
What does a Consultation mean exactly-and what does it entail?
A Business or Property Consultation is first and foremost, a client interview and review of the site plan and/or business plan in the context of the site or location. An extensive Question & Answer period addresses any questions you have.
An initial consultation entails
-
an in-depth interview
- Questions & Answers
- a business plan review + site inspection
- site evaluation
- review of any existing plans, budgets, time-line, planning issues
The consultation takes an educational approach to solving the needs of a human-directed ecosystem: food, water, shelter, energy and economic functions are all considered when sharing new ideas, and making recommendations for proposed features, referrals and time-line.
OK. Sounds good. How much does a Consultation cost?
The cost of services is comparable to other design professionals- and is a very small percentage of the savings you will enjoy as a result of the consultation.
A Business or Property Consultation is typically between $800 and $1200.00 per day for a comprehensive examination of all systems. It is usually less for simply one aspect -or if you have a small residential project. Additional fees for travel and other expenses also apply.
Feel free to contact us for an exact quote and/or to make a proposal.
Is a "Design" or a "Written Report" part of a Consultation?
A written report and/or design document is not included in the scope of an initial Business or Property Consultation. You are encouraged to take notes and are welcome to record our meeting (please, no video).
For further consulting, business planning, design documents, research, project management and/or supervision services hourly fees are invoiced at $125.00 (and less) per staff person.
What do I need to do to prepare for our Consultation?
Typically for a Business or Property Consultation, a vision statement is enough to get us started. Obtaining maps of the project site would also be helpful.
Such maps and documents would include:
- a real estate map showing easements, property lines, existing buildings and other improvements
- blueprints of existing or proposed features
- a well report
- aerial photographs, topographic maps or spot elevations
- soil, water or any other survey
Where should we meet and who should attend the Consultation?
We can meet anywhere at or near the project site where we can sit uninterrupted, comfortably at a table, while we interview and review the project goals and objectives. We will also walk or view the property to get the best information exchange and perspective.
Of course it's best to have all the "key players" of the project present: anyone who will be directly affected by the design and/or decisions, such as business partners, spouses and land managers.
I'm interested. How long is a Consultation, and how do I schedule one?
A consultation generally lasts 2 to 4 hours. Email a brief description of your project, with an overall "Vision Statement" as described above, with a few possible dates. We will then coordinate a time that best suits your project and schedule.
